Up for grabs today is your very own mug rug. Don't know what a mug rug is? By definition, it's a quilted piece of artwork larger than a standard coaster and smaller than a placemat, used as a resting place for a beverage and a snack. But often used for many other things. ;) (I'll be honest. I have one next to my computer that I use as intended. And one next to my sewing machine as a resting place for my scissors so I always know where they are.)
This mug rug will be made JUST FOR YOU, based off of a short list of likes.
What do you have to do to enter? Easy-peasy. Just post here on the blog with a few things that tickle your fancy. "I love orange and hexies and want to use the mug rug as a resting place for my cat's food bowl." (I'd be sure to add a waterproof liner!) Or, maybe "Polka dots make me shout with joy and I really like anything round. But I don't care much for blue." Or even "Elephants are my favorite animals. Ever. And I kind of like stripes." You get the picture. Just make sure that I have some way of contacting you if you win. Blog followers get a second entry, free of charge. Just post again letting me know that you are. (New blog followers welcome!)
Entries will be accepted from right now through May 25th (I'll close submissions in the wee hours of May 26th) and I'll get working on the mug rug as soon as the winner has been contacted and responded, so that it can go into the mail quickly.

I love mug rugs! :) If I won this, though, I would gift the rug to my much younger sister who is about to embark on her first year in college. She loves zebras, photography/cameras and pink is her favorite color. She would use this at her "new" college desk as a place for her coffee and energy bar while studying all night.

ReplyDeleteThank you! I have no clue what I'm using it for but I'm going to college so white/pale is probably not a good choice! Purple is my favorite color. I love bright colors. Some neat color combos are purple/pink/chartreuse, purple/chartreuse/blue, purple/yellow/red, and purple/yellow/green. I am a girly girl so I love flowers and such. Bunnies, my childhood obsession, still have a special place in my heart. :)

Thanks for defining what a mug rug is. I've seen the term bandied about but wasn't exactly sure why coasters were renamed mug rugs. Now I know. It's not a coaster, that's why!

ReplyDeleteCool giveaway! I've been seeing these mugrugs everywhere and think they're super neat but I do not quilt so can't make my own. :( maybe someday. Mine would be used during the little bit of kid free time I have in the evenings when everyone else is asleep. Snack time for mommy. I think it would be awesome to have a mug rug that was made just for me! My favorite color is green... just regular Crayola marker green (or maybe a tad lighter at times). I love kitties and turtles. I would be using my mug rug under cold drinks...to keep the water rings off of my class coffee table.
